Who we are

StrandWire Systems is the trading name of James Aston, a sole trader. Our address is on our Legal information page (strandwire.co.uk/legal/). We are the controller of the personal information described here. Contact us about privacy on 01952 897212 or at info@strandwire.co.uk.

What we collect

Enquiry details	Name, email, phone number if you give one, postcode, the service you want and your message
Phone calls	Your phone number, any message you leave, and our notes of what we talked about
Someone else's details	If you enquire for a relative or friend, the details you give us about them. Please check that they are happy for you to do this.
Job details	Address, quotes, invoices, payment records, emails, notes about your network, and photos of the work area
Technical details	Your IP address is used for a short time to limit repeated form submissions and to deliver the site securely
Information on your devices	We may see this when helping with a device. We only access what is needed for the job and do not copy it.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We do not use your information for marketing unless you have asked us to. The consent box on our form confirms you have seen this notice and that we can reply to you.

Who we share it with

• Microsoft provides our email service, including where enquiries are stored.
• Our phone provider carries calls and stores any messages left for us.
• Cloudflare carries traffic to the website and provides Turnstile, which checks that the form is used by a person. Turnstile processes technical signals such as IP address and browser details. Cloudflare says it acts as a controller for some of this, as explained in its Turnstile privacy addendum.
• Starlink, your internet provider or equipment suppliers, only where needed for your job and with your knowledge.
• Accountants, insurers, legal advisers or authorities, where needed or where the law requires it.

We do not sell your information. Some providers may process data outside the UK, using safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum.

How long we keep it

Cookies

This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Cloudflare may use technical storage needed to keep the site and form secure. If we add website statistics, we will use a privacy-friendly service and update this notice.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your information, and ask us to correct or delete it, or restrict how we use it. You can also object to some uses and, in some cases, ask for it to be transferred. Some of these rights have limits, for example where we must keep accounting records. There is normally no charge, and we will reply within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have used your information, please tell us first at info@strandwire.co.uk. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, look into it and tell you the outcome. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

We may update this notice. The date at the top shows the latest version.
